MCL Home Inspection

Welcome, my name is Steven L. Ault.  I am the owner and inspector of MCL Home Inspection. I perform every inspection done personally.  I perform every inspection like it is my house.  I only schedule one inspection per day in order to completely give you all of the attention you deserve when doing your inspection.  The inspection generally last two to three hours, depending upon the condition of the home.  I have certifications in Foundations, Roofing Systems, Framing, Building Enclosures, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC, EPA, CPSC & Business, Appliances and Standards of Practice/Legal/Ethics.  I am licensed by the State of Texas through the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Professional Inspector license #9916 as required by law.  I am a member of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors.

Why Get A Home Inspection?

The purchase of a home is probably the largest single investment you ever make.  You should learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the need for any major repairs before you buy.  In today's market apporximately 75% of the homebuyers have discovered the benefits of having a home inspection done.  The information they acquire provides them with the knowledge to make a qualified assessment of their new home.  You have ten days after you sign the initial contract to have the home inspected.  Just make sure that you have a clause in the contract stating something to the effect that the final sale is pending on the outcome of the inspection.

 New Home Phase Inspection

New home phase inspections are just as important to have as older homes.  Do you need phase inspections on your new home?  I would say yes.  Maybe even more now as TRCC(Texas Residential Construction Commission) SHUT DOWN

So what does this mean?

Here in Texas you personally need a license to drive a car or catch a fish.  Your barber or your hair stylist need a license to work in their field.  So does the tow truck operator and interior designer you hire to pick paint and arrange furniture.  But a homebuilder doesn't need a license, and neither do the trades that install important structural elements of your home, such as the foundation, framing and the roof.  HOW SICK IS THAT.

Most homeowners rely solely on the knowledge of the builder. Things get overlooked and sometimes corners get cut.  MCL Home Inspection is knowedgeable in reading blue prints.  A phase inspection could save you some headaches and disappointments.  There is nothing like wanting a floor plug in the slab, then finding out after the concrete is poured that it was forgotten.
